Who we are

We are a British bistro located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality throughout the UK.

Our menus and dishes change on a daily basis. We aim to champion seasonal vegetables predominantly sourced from our farm Cinderwood Market Garden in Cheshire, whole-animal butchery, hand-rolled pasta and fresh fish and seafood cooked over coal.

The wine list encourages discovery and curiosity with a spotlight on small-scale winemakers from around Europe.

Both an à la carte and a seasonal menu are available at lunchtime and dinner. We hold space for walk-ins in the dining room and at the kitchen bar counter so you can always pop by to grab some plates and a glass of wine!

Please note: Higher Ground is closed for a summer break from Monday 31st August, reopening on Wednesday 9th September.

At lunch a £40pp seasonal menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal menu at £65pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

Reservations of 6x guests and over will be served the seasonal menu. Guest’s allergies can be accommodated. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and pescatarian seasonal menus are available.

Higher Ground is wheelchair accessible. We do not allow dogs in the restaurant, only registered guide dogs. Card payments only.
